LINES FROM
THE POEM "PRAYER"
Slowly, like a crusted asteroid
turning in the dim glow of stars,
I feel my body drift toward God,
its gravity coaxing my wandering
steps toward ultimate ignorance
and oblivion. And I fall flowing
like water through the emptiness,
letting go all I am in a shower
of dusty molecules, which leap at
their freedom and disperse.
