Stone River Press is a small regional press dedicated to publishing the literature of Texas. We are not a vanity press or self-publisher where you pay the costs to see your name in print. We select only quality work to carry our name. Since the talent in Texas is so strong and diverse, we desire to showcase both new and established authors.

Stone River Press now owns Page One Publications with a Martin House imprint. We publish SUDDENLY, a journal of prose poetry and short short fiction by Texas writers. See our SUDDENLY page for guidelines.

Our books are not restricted to Texas themes, for we do cater to a broader more literary readership. Our main priority is that the manuscript must be one that we love for its writing alone, not for its profit value. By selecting talented authors in near proximity, we are proud to say that we maintain close relations, and become a family of authors.

We are small, with the capacity for only a title or two per year. Except for our SUDDENLY journal, our authors are selected on an invitation only basis. Therefore, we do not accept unsolicited manuscripts.
